Water

Our primary focus is to identify and assess abandoned wells in hopes of restoring them for underserved communities in Kenya. Given the limited resources, our belief is that restoring existing wells is an effective and immediate strategy that benefits a arger number of affected communities.

Education

Our signature educational initiative, MOGH-SAM (Scratch a Mind), is a creative coding and digital-making program that leverages Scratch, a block-based programming language developed by MIT Media Labs. Our curriculum incorporates learning activities from the Creative Computing Curriculum at Harvard Graduate School of Education and Learning Paths from the Raspberry Pi Foundation.

Sanitation & Health

Addressing proper hygiene and avoiding sicknesses through waterborne contamination are some of the ways that MOGH is making an impact in sanitation and health. We offer seminars and workshops in places of learning or community-based public forums such as schools and churches to help advance this agenda in the right direction.

Our Mission

revive, Empower & Sustain Hopes

Myles of Great Hopes (MOGH) is a nonprofit 501-3c in the state of North Carolina with a vision of Reviving, Empowering and Sustaining of Hopes for the impoverished communities in Africa, with focus on needy public Kenyan schools.

Myles of Great Hopes was founded in 2009 and officially launched in October at Cameron Village Library in Raleigh, North Carolina by Founder and President Isaac Kuria, a Raleigh resident and Kenyan native. MoGH leadership embraces all volunteer board members, including the chair. To remain effective and relevant, MoGH has a presence in Raleigh, NC as well as in Nairobi, Kenya.

We have propelled forward and achieved milestones in the community addressing specific areas.  Provision of Clean Water remains our top most priority, and through that, Education and Health are addressed. At MoGH, we survey the communities and address the most pressing needs that are aligned with our mission and vision.

“Children are the world's most valuable resource and its best hope for the future”
